Hi there! I’m Mary, the author of this blog. I got into tourism in early 1997 when entered in University of South Carolina. I got a degree in tourism management. My interest in tourism is rooted in childhood. I am so grateful to my family who allowed me to see the USA. I was so excited about my travel experience. So I decided to develop in tourism.

Now I want to share my experiences with other people. During getting an education at university and traveling across the USA, I have found pieces of knowledge about touristic infrastructure, how it works, its benefits, and its features. I want to share all of it with you on my blog!

Mary Build worked with Insights from Card Member data and external research, she did research on seasonality, and constructed systems of benefits, offers, and any new launches. She elaborated on partner marketing requirements and dealt with channel cadence and targeting. Mary worked closely with the web Analytics team to define the data needed to build insights that will inform the marketing strategy.

The main of Mary’s skills is the ability to build positive relationships across teams to influence travel strategy and ensure a clear customer journey. Also, she can run the annual marketing budget and reporting.

Mary always wanted to help people, that’s why she became a tour guide. She wanted to show people the world and help them make their travel dreams come true. Her blog will help you to plan your trip, choose the right destination, find interesting places, and learn more about the world of tourism!

Work experience

• 2000-2001 – travel agency manager. I was responsible for selling air, hotel, and land packages to tourists
• 2002-2010 – freelance tour guide. I have been working as a freelance tour guide for more than 15 years. I have organized and conducted tours in different parts of the USA. I have also worked as a tour manager for groups of up to 30 people.
• 2010-present – marketing manager in a tourist company. I promoted travel and lifestyle products.
• Also I am the author and editor of the travel blog “Travel Blog Ideas.” I write about my experiences traveling around the USA. I am a member of the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) and the Tour Guide Association of America (TGAA). Awards In 2006, I was awarded the ASTA Service Excellence Award for my work as a tour guide

What is your favorite route in the USA?

My favorite route in the USA is the Pacific Coast Highway. It’s a beautiful drive with stunning ocean views. I always enjoy stopping at the different coastal towns along the way. You can enjoy this route with Amtrak Pacific Surfliner.

What is the most scenic place you have visited ever?

The most scenic place I have ever visited is the Grand Canyon. It’s an amazing sight to see and I always enjoy hiking around it.

What is your best advice for travelers?

My best advice for travelers is to always be prepared. Make sure you have a good map and plan your route before you start driving. Also, always pack a lunch and plenty of snacks so you don’t have to stop along the way. And lastly, make sure you have a camera so you can take lots of pictures!
